Minco2 is coming…

Ok, our post on 1 April was a April Fools but I am sure that you have noted it. It was the concept of a horrible product we could have released in one day.

Minco 2 look more and more complete and I have just implemented the automatic update functionality for the non App Store version today.

There should be only some days left until I will send out the mail to announce that we are ready to beta test.

You may have noted that it took a long time again, and that we did not finalise a beta version in March.

Yes, we could have done it, but not with all the additional functionality we decided to add.

From next week I will start and write about the awesome functionality we have added to Minco 2.

I am sure you will be delighted when you hear about the new features in Minco 2.

Marc

P.S. On monday I will start with the About panel. 🙂

I’m excited to see more, hope I’m on the beta list and wonder if there is going to be a Pomodoro mode as well…
Almost tricked me with your last post 😉

Hi Alex,

Of course you are on the beta list.
We got ideas how we could implement Pomodoro technique in Minco 2 but it’s currently not included.

Will Version 2 automatically track time spent on different Apps ala RescueTime?

celmaroApril 8th, 2014 at 6:20 am

We got a good idea how we can track times spend working with documents on a useful way.
It’s semi automated. You have to tell Minco that you want to track time on a document but the times (open/close) are automatically calculated.
We have made some tests to see how it will work and if we are happy with it we will finally include it.

Most of applications like RescueTime can give you an idea what you where doing but the time information is not suitable for a bill.

I’m about to buy Minco, but would like to get the version 2.0 when it gets out instead. Will there be a free upgrade if you buy one of the late version of 1.x, or should I wait until the 2.0 is released?

celmaroApril 17th, 2014 at 7:11 am

You will get a free upgrade to version 2.0 if you purchase Minco 1.
The beta of Minco 2 is near to be released. I am currently working on the last details but sometimes it turns out that small adjustments need a lot of time.

Hi,
usually I prefer to buy on the apple store. If I buy on the apple store the MINCO 1 version, I’ll have a free upgrade to the next version?
As an alternative, can I partecipate to the beta evaluation till the release of Minco 2?

Thanks in advance,

Luca

Hi Luca,

We will have to publish Minco 2 to the App Store as a new Application to increase the visibility.
For Mac App Store user which have purchased during the last month we will offer promo codes to upgrade free.

If you would like to start working with Minco 1 I would suggest you to start with the trial version on our website.
I assume that we will finally start with the long promised beta in the next days so you can also come on board to beta test until Minco 2 is available in the Mac App Store.

I finished my trial period so I purchased Minco 1 hoping to get a free upgrade for the upcoming v2. If needed, I would be glad to help as a beta tester. Keep up the good work,

Bruno
