<\/a><\/p>\nTo get some\u00a0rest from the hard work on other projects I have started with Tubbler in september last year.<\/p>\n
Even that it was a hard work to finalize a public version for the the Mac App Store, I had also great fun while testing the application.<\/p>\n

Likewise the YouTube player for iPhone and iPad it’s easy way to play movies on your Mac without to clutter up your screen with a open YouTube website.<\/p>\n
I can’t understand people downloading and converting movies from YouTube and fill up their\u00a0hard drives. \u00a0Keeping a link to the movie is all you need to play a movie again and again. I would be really happy if Apple \u00a0would come up with some cloud services allowing me to stream the music I have bought in the iTunes store without download it. For sure I am not \u00a0a big fan from cloud services and dislike to put all my stuff in the cloud but for videos and music which are public available I am happy that there is no need to fill my hard drive with.<\/p>\n
Tubbler is currently not more then a player with integrated movie query and a list of all the movies you have ever added to Tubbler, but it’s great.<\/p>\n
I never had so much fun with YouTube movies on my Mac.<\/p>\n
Tubbler was submitted to Apple about one week before so I expect that it will be available in the Mac App Store \u00a0next week if Apple will not reject the binary.<\/p>\n
Currently Tubbler \u00a0don’t support any YouTube account functionality to keep the application as simple as possible but\u00a0depending on user feedback and request we will consider to make it a full fledged YouTube player client for the Mac<\/p>\n
UPDATE: (09.03.2011)<\/strong><\/p>\n Apple rejected Tubbler since it’s based on the official YouTube Chromeless Player.<\/p>\n We did not want to use any hacks we can not guaranty to work proper even in some weeks.<\/p>\n I have seen several YouTube client projects which are stopped and exiting player which are not working.<\/p>\n Test’s showed us that currently there is no difference in CPU usages between the\u00a0Chromeless Player and HTML5 alternatives so it’s currently the best way to go without running in trouble.<\/p>\n Marc<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" To get some\u00a0rest from the hard work on other projects I have started with Tubbler in september last year.
