Since version 3.5, Firefox lost completely AppleScript\u00a0scripting functionality.<\/p>\n

This makes it currently impossible for Webbla to grab the URL with the shortcut.\u00a0The only working way to get a bookmark from Firefox into Webbla is by using the bookmarklets.<\/p>\n

Also the possibility to open the URL with the default Firefox script is not working.\u00a0I’ve figured out a workaround which make use of System Events and triggers the menu in Firefox. Not really a satisfying solution but it works.<\/p>\n

You only have to copy the script and to replace the existing in Webbla.<\/p>\n

tell application “Firefox”<\/strong><\/p>\n

activate <\/strong><\/p>\n

tell application “System Events”<\/strong><\/p>\n

keystroke “l” using {command down}<\/strong><\/p>\n

set the clipboard to (“[@URL]”)<\/strong><\/p>\n

keystroke “v” using {command down}<\/strong><\/p>\n

keystroke return<\/strong><\/p>\n

end tell<\/strong><\/p>\n

end tell<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am some wondering on Firefox. It looks like if they are not interested to make a good programming job on the Mac platform.\u00a0Google also seems to be very slow by implementing AppleScript\u00a0in Chrome and are talking on Milestone 5 where it will be included.<\/p>\n

So let’s wait and see if the big companies are the same responsive and open for requests as small software companies like we are. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
