Minco 1.0 Beta 3 Released – Time Tracking on Mac OS X

So we got some delay with beta 3 which break our timeline but we have integrated a lot of new functionality.

Our biggest challenge was the integration of adding and editing tasks in Minco. We could have gone the simple way by opening a sheet or a panel in the middle of the screen but ended up with the idea to flip the counter display to switch in the task edit mode.

Let us know if you like it.

On the screenshot you can also see that we have included some tag functionality. You can enter the tags manually or let Minco detect tag information from the title of the task if there are prefixed with @. This solution is full compatible with the tags of Things from CultureCode.

Another huge request was the possibility to edit the start time of the current running task. In Minco beta 3 you can edit the time by right clicking on the counter display to open the start time adjustment menu. You can change the time by moving the clock-hand around or by pressing one of the three adjust button.”|<” set the time at the end of the previous work time, with -5 and -15 you can shift the time for minus 5 or 15 minutes.  It is also possible to start a task with a selected start time.

We also give the opportunity to resize the window. This can be done by dragging the lower left corner with the open task list to the left or right.

There are even more changes and fixes in Minco beta 3. With the final version 1.0 we will include help functionality to explain all in detail.

You can download Minco beta 3 on our product page or by using the integrated update functionality.

Let’s start trying…

  1. Thank you for adding those features, they are quite helpful.
Now, if the counter could pause when the computer is idle, that would be awesome… 😉

  2. I’ve just noticed the start time adjustment menu opens when right clicking, but not when ctrl-clicking. Could you fix it please?

  3. Thanks, I will include the idle time detection in the next beta.
