We have got over 2000 downloads in the first 24 hours and enormous positive feedback for our first release of Minco, that we would have never expected .
Thanks to all who have downloaded Minco, and for the feature suggestions and bug reporting s.
In Minco beta 2 we have included the first part of feature requests to smooth some rough edges in usability but there are still many open requests we have selected to include in upcoming versions.
Some top feature requests we are working on are to add tasks in Minco without switching to iCal or any other applications, to offer more information and editing of tasks, and a permanent task option for tasks which never end.
New features and fixes in beta 2:
Update functionality. One completely unexpected bug we have fixed just this morning is in the automatic update functionality. We did not include a DSA signature for Sparkle as we have expected that this is optional. Minco beta 2 will download updates and update information over a ssl proxy so we don’t need to sign each version with DSA signature we plan to release.
The bad thing is that Minco beta 1 can not be updated automatically. So please download Minco beta 2 manually from our website or directly by pressing on this link. Sorry for this issue.
Shortcut support. We have included a global shortcut which can be used to show and hide Minco. With the additional option “Activate Minco” you can control if pressing the shortcut, change the current active application to Minco. This enables the keyboard commands in Minco like starting and stopping the counter, selecting tasks, and changing of the display style.
Task List: One other improvement is an option to open and close the task list automatically and to use the key combination “Shift+command+A” or “Enter” to start and stop the selected task.
In all, it’s now possible to control the main functions of Minco without lifting the hands from the keyboard.

Version 1 Beta 2 can’t be used on OSX 5.8 as advertised, according to my Blackbook 2.2GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Where do they claim that it works with 10.5.8? I think it’s Snow Leopard only.
In the meantime I have upgraded to 10.6 and have to say: In combination with Things the package is awesome, the visual tracking in iCal is great and helps a lot to see where all the time went. Nice work!
However, one minor thing bothers me and makes Minco almost unusable for me at this time: Since there is no text wrapping in Minco’s task list and resizing is not possible I can’t read my tasks in their entirety – but since my tasks are prepended by their respective projects, many of them look the same in the task list, and I cant choose which one to tackle.
Please remedy this, would make me buy instantly.
Thanks for listening.
10.5 support would be awesome!
I have downloaded it but I am very confused by one thing. Why is it not possible to edit the time you have spent on a task? For example, I often forget to start/stop, screwing up the time completely. There should be an easy way to edit the time you’ve already spent, otherwise it’s not that useful for me. Otherwise it’s a fantastic little app.
Two feature requests:
– please make the task list window resizable;
– please add the option to automatically stop the timer if the computer is idle for more than X minutes.
I am also using Minco together with Things and works pretty good.
