Where to buy a iPad, Mac or other Apple products in Mauritius

Well, if you are living in Mauritius or only on holidays you may want to buy some Apple related products.

There are currently 3 big companies where can go to buy.

Update: 25.12.2014: Please compare product pricing carefully between the companies before you are going to buy. I discovered price differences of more then RS 3000 for the same product and same features (iPad).

Update 07.03.2015: iSpace Technologies seams to be another Apple Authorised Reseller located in Mauritius.

APEX

It’s a relatively new company and an official Apple Premium Reseller in Mauritius. They have started with a shop at Bagatelle the Mall of Mauritius in August 2012 and just opened a second store at Grand Baie La Croisette.
This is very cool for us since we have only to drive about 10 minutes to be at there shop.

There slogan is “Your New Apple Experience in Mauritius” and this is definitively reflected in the shop design.
Unfortunately there is no website where you can check there product range, but on the Facebook website you can find interesting announcements and offers.

Some interesting products you will find in there store are
LaCie Storage devices, Belkin Thunderbolt™ Express Dock, LEAP MOTION, Airplay Speakers from Libratone and Logitech,
Mobile Health accessories by Medisana, Bags by KNOMO LONDON, Parrot AR.Drone 2.0, Cases from Griffin, O!Coat,
Headphones from Beats by Dr Dre, and of course you can buy all Apple products like iPad, iPhone, iPod, iMac, Macbook Pro, Mac Pro, iTV.

I never tried it but I have heard that they also offer technical service and can order spare parts for you if ever your Macbook Pro battery is broken one day.

Cash & Carry

Not so exclusive but with really competitive prices you can find them in Bagatelle, Port Louis, and Grand Baie La Croisette. There are more specialised on Samsung products and are selling anything from Gas hobs to refrigerator too.

iShop by LEAL

This was the first shop to buy Apple products here in Mauritius. You can find there well equipped shops in Centre Commercial Phoenix, and at Caudan Waterfront. Certified as an Apple Authorized Service Provider they can offer you good after-sales service too.

I bought some times with them but you must always compare with APEX and Cash & Carry to get an awesome product for a good price.

iShop

 iSpace Technologies

There are claiming that they are Apple Authorised Reseller (AAR) & Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP). I have never visited this shop and can not say anything about there product range, after sales service and pricing but the website looks promising.  The company is located in Ebene, Mauritius.

Orange

Orange is the only official mobile service provider offering the iPhone in Mauritius. The iPhone is sold as prepaid or with packages but as far as I know only with sim lock.

Software, Music, Gift Cards

If you are looking for Software, Songs, Movies or Books for your Mac or iDevice you can visit the iTunes Store.

In the App Store there is a good start point to go to the site where you can find the best from 2014.

And don’t forget a iTunes Gift Card is always a good idea if you don’t have the time to visit one of the stores above to get a awesome present.

  1. I’ve purchased an IPAD at APEX on Sunday 21 DEC.2014. Seeing an advert in L’Express newspaper concerning gifts on purchases,at about 11.15 am on Tuesday 23 DEC I enquired from the Bagatele outlet as to the reason why I did not benefit same on Sunday. But to my astonishment a male officer responded on a very non consumer friendly tone to my request saying that that the ‘promotion” has started today and nothing could be done!
It’s indeed unfortunate when Apex is spending so much on publicity, that a client should be treated as such.

  2. Hi Krishna,

I completely understand your disappointment and I am wondering why the advert in L’Express newspaper concerning gifts on purchases at APEX was not announced on there Facebook website as well. By following a company I would expect to get noticed on promotional things as well and not only on new product arrivals.

I can only suggest you to visit there store in GBLC for an second inquirer. The staff there looks more friendly and competent to me.

    Best wishes, Marc

  3. Hello Mark, i was very interested to buy a macbook pro at Appex bagatelle, but to my astonisment on the day of the purchase the salesman was trying to take cash from me for installing office in the mac, i was very disatisfied with him, trying to make a fool out of me.

  4. Hi Danigel,

    this sounds really disappointing.
I don’t have any experiences with Apex at Bagatelle but it would be interesting to hear from others which may have run in the same situation.

My main concern is the exorbitant price for Apple products here in Mauritius. It absolutely demotivate me to buy after comparing with anywhere else in the world. If they would sell products at a “normal” and affordable price they could sell so much more. Only with a tax refund which is available for tourists the pricing is getting acceptable and comparable to other countries. The Apex shop in GBLC looks most of the time empty. I am not wondering why.

    Thanks for your comment.
